CURRENT FUNDRAISER PROJECT FOR THE WILDLAND FIREFIGHTER FOUNDATION First off, this video is being done as a fundraiser for the WFF. Proceeds from the sale of the DVD will go to the Foundation. So…the plan is to make up a video, shot by wildland firefighters for the whole world to see. The soundtrack and the footage shot by you. Federal, state, county, volunteers doesn’t matter. This is not going to be some Hollywood Production with a bunch of CG effects or fancy-pants visuals, just what you’re gonna see on the fireline and the experiences we all deal with throughout the fire season. It’s gonna be nice to share this footage with the world, and also have something for us to remember the season by. Now…tons of you out there have video cameras now-a-days and you’re all recording your own historical footage for your family’s and friends. What I’m trying to do here is make something to showcase to everyone our experiences, good or bad. First off…music…the most important thing all. I know there’s a lot of you out there that play a guitar, pick a banjo, or play in a band. I’ll take any kind of music you can make, hardcore, rock, classic rock, country, instrumentals...doesn't matter. Send in what ever you got, any format, and I’ll use it, if I can. Second off…video…I’m just as busy as the rest of you during the fire season, so here is how you can help make this MUCH easier. Digital footage only…please…no analog, or cell phone shots cuz that won’t look very good. Capture and transfer the stuff you want to be seen on a DVD or a CD if there is room or an FTP site if you have one. The geeky format questions are on the page for submitting video down below. PLEASE, don’t send me 4 hours of footage of your crew walking up the fireline and then shooting some cool scene, just the relevant stuff you want showcased. If you are one of those who’s camcorder records on a DVD, try to capture that on your computer first, then save it as an .avi or .mov, don’t “finalize” the DVD before you pop it out of the camcorder, cuz then I’ll have to rip it, which makes the quality kinda bad. All this information for submitting your music or video are right below along with release forms. Sorry, but we gotta have those so no one gets in trouble. So print those out and send them with your footage, cuz if you don’t, I won’t be able to use it. If you need help with any of that stuff, please, just email me and I’ll help you out. So…let’s make this happen for the Foundation and raise some money for them. |
